Not giving up what you have already started

Giving up is never the option! Keep going and you will get to where you want.

Let me tell you a story of how I didn't give up and got where I wanted. I always feel so proud of myself and so should you.

A few years ago I passed my driving test, but let me tell you it was not easy for me. It took me a long time to get to that pass and let me tell you why! When I first started driving I picked an instructor who charged a cheaper price and at the time I was still at school. I couldn't afford expensive lessons, I never asked my parents to pay and I only had a part-time job at the weekends. I am proud of myself as I paid for all my driving lessons, theory and driving tests. I took two driving tests which I will get onto! So I passed my theory test first time during the time started my driving lessons. The theory test went great and I was very happy with that. Next I had to learn how to drive. I started off down a country road and picked up the basics of driving. Then I started driving around villages and then onto the town. I had many lessons with the first instructor and decided that I'd take my driving test, I mean why not? Nope I was not ready to take the test. I didn't crash (which is a great thing) I just didn't know everything I needed to for the test.

So I decided that I had to look for another driving instructor. I contacted many driving instructors but a lot of them didn't have any spaces. Then one driving instructor got back to me and asked if I'd like some lessons. I was feeling great and ready to go and try again. So I had to start all over again and paid a bit more to learn again. I had struggled as I have dyslexia and I got my left and right confused. I also found it hard to take things in but I kept going. I had two hour lessons each week so I could get a lot in during each week. It's so great that my driving instructor was patient and understood that I struggled. That's what you need when you struggle a person with patience to help you get through it. I had to go over and over things again until I felt confident that I could do it. Like a lot of people I admit I did get frustrated with having to keep trying. I felt like I would never pass, how could I do that? I found it so difficult with my dyslexia and felt stressed from it. It felt like I was learning for many more years. Then the big day came, the week before my theory would run out. I decided I was ready two years later! I had a lot of nerves! I got in the car deep in concentration and it went so fast. Then I was told to park up and I realised that's where you park if you pass and I did! I could not believe it! I still can't now! I was one of my greatest achievements! You may not think it is but to me it is! I am proud of myself for getting through a hard time and smashing it. This is how I want you to feel. I do not want you to give up because it gets tough. You're a soldier, soldier on!

If you are finding things hard right now please don't give up on yourself. You've only lost if you give up. Don't give up keep trying and trying until you finally get there. It may take time maybe months or years but you will eventually get there. I passed my test and it took years but I was determined to get there, now you can do the same. It takes time, dedication, patience and your hard work to get there. Sometimes you may feel like giving up is the option but it is not! Keep trying many times! Everyone will have got somewhere from trying over again. You're not alone! Everyone fails, it is how you deal with it that's important. You can fall but then you can get back up again and try until you get there. You should always try no matter how many times you fail keep pushing on! In the future I will not let my clients give up on themselves or what they started. I will push them to reach all there goals even if it takes a long time, I will get them there! I will help them and I will be patient for them as I understand how tough things can feel.

Don't worry about how far ahead others are, just focus on your goals and where you would like to get. They may be ahead of you but in something else you may be a head of them, so don't worry life is not a race. When you feel comfortable to do a test, go for it. Don't worry about what others may say or think. At the end of the day it is your choice when you do things.

Remember don't give up on what you started and most importantly don't give up on yourself! Life is tough but so are you!

How you can stay healthy at work

If you are someone who works a 9-5 every week you will be very busy. You may find it difficult to maintain your work/health balance. Working in an office job means you will be sat down in an office for the most of your day. You health is always very important. Looking after your health will help you manage any work stress you might have. You will have a better immune system and you will be able to focus more at work. Following these healthy tips will help you have positive impacts on your health and reduce the negative impacts.

Here are some healthy tips to help you stay healthier during your working week:

Eat a healthy lunch

Plan what you will eat for dinner at the start of each week and make sure you have the food you need for that week. If you take lunch to work prepare it the night before. You don't want to eat unhealthy food all the time. Preparing your own lunch is much cheaper and you can make your lunch a lot healthier. Make sure you get a healthy balanced diet. If you prepare a healthier lunch you will feel a lot better and you will have a lot more energy to get you through the day.

Keep hydrated during the day

Always keep hydrated! Make sure you get enough of it. You don't want to be dehydrated and tired at work. Make sure you have a bottle of water on your desk that you regularly drink from and make sure to top it up again. When you fill your water bottle up or get up to get a drink every now and then, it helps to get some steps in. It is better for your health to balance sitting down and standing up each day. Make sure you stay hydrated throughout your day!

Get a good amount of sleep during your working week

Sleep is very important to help your body rest and recover from each day. Having poor sleep will make things worse. You should at least get 8 hours sleep each night. Enough time for your body to function again the next day. You can make sure you go to bed and get up at a certain time during your working week. Having set times you go to sleep will help your body adjust to the sleep routine. Having a good amount of sleep will help improve your mood too.

Plan a healthy routine for your work week

Plan what time you will get up in the morning before work. Make sure you get a good breakfast. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. So make sure you have it! Make time to look after your health during your busy work days. Don't forget about your health even when you have a busy life. Making a healthier routine will help you stay focused and keep you working harder.

Keep active always

Plan your workout or days you will go to a group class. Write down what days you plan to workout and what you will work on. For example one day you might work on your legs and another day you might work on your cardio. Planning these workouts will help you to stick to a routine each week. But don't be afraid to change your workouts, changing them will stop your body getting use to the same workout. If you are going to plan a workout for each week, make sure you try doing a workout 3-4 times a week for an hour each day you workout. If you don't have the time to do an hour, don't worry! You can still try a 20 minute workout if you don't have a full hour free. It is better to do a workout even if it is short than not doing one at all. Make sure you get up and get active during your busy week!

At the end of the day your health is very important and you should always take care of it.

Hope this will help you stay healthier at work!
